Wind Instrument Lessons
I offer private instruction to students of all ages wishing to study woodwind and brass instruments. I offer lessons for flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, tuba, and Irish tin whistle.
I am a graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in Music Education. I hold a Virginia Teaching Certificate and have experience as a band director. This experience allows me to instruct students in a similar manner to what they may be accustomed to in a full band rehearsal, but with the individual attention that is so vitally important to a musician's continuing development.
I teach various styles of music including band literature and method books, jazz, and solo literature. I also teach concepts such as pitch recognition, rhythm, audiation, scales, music theory, aura skills, sight reading and sight singing skills. I also tailor lessons to help students reach both long and short term goals.
Standard rates are $20 for a half hour lesson.
